NFLPA will investigate into Browns Coach’s tough practices

As more and more players began to complaint about Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini’s toughness in practices, the NFL Players Association decides to set up a meeting with all players who wear Browns jerseys this week to talk about that, with concerns about health and safety.

Defensive end Keith Grennan hurt his knee on a drill last week, and rookie running back James Davis went on injured reserve last month with a season-ending shoulder injury. The two injuries caused a lot of speculations about Mangini’s practice policies, and the league was forced to examine what happened to Davis. After reviewing video of the practice session and interviewing Browns players, coaches and team staff, the league determined the Browns did not violate any league policies.

But new complaints came out last week as veteran running back Jamal Lewis said he thought Mangini was tiring out his players by overworking the Browns. The team did not improve under his strict rules as Mangini expected, the 1-7 performance had caused fans to plan a protest. Maybe Lewis was right, overworking is just not the right way to coach Cleveland players.
