Boller led Rams to win over Bengals by 24-21

On Thursday night’s preseason game the St. Louis Rams playing against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rams’ quarterback Kyle Boller proved his ability by leading the team to a 24-21 victory over the Bengals.

Thursday night was Boller’s second game filling in for Marc Bulger, who broke pinkie finger on his passing hand before the last game. Last week’s game against the Atlanta Falcons was the first game Boller playing as replacement for Bulger. While he struggled in the 20-13 loss to the Falcons, he seemed to feel much better against the Bengals.

Boller got his helmet knocked off on a hit by linebacker Keith Rivers at the end of an 8-yard scramble, but he got to his feet quickly and completed his next two passes. Coach Steve Spagnuolo praised Boller and said that he was a quarterback deserving the credit.

Bulger was supposed to start the season opener on Sept. 13 at Seattle, but the team would worry less now since the backup quarterback is just as good.
